Both Stage 2 and 3 require a referral under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) due to potential impacts on Matters of National Environmental Significance.
Referral documentation is currently being prepared for submission to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
As part of the EPBC environmental approval process, the Australian Government will issue a public notification. This notification will provide the community with an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed environmental plans and approvals.
For more information, please visit the EPBC Act Public Portal on the Federal Government website.
The EPBC referral process takes times and will affect the project construction timeline.
We will keep the community informed as the project progresses.
