The Caloundra Transport Corridor Upgrade aims to improve access into Caloundra's CBD. The upgrade is being delivered in 2 sections, with Sunshine Coast Council delivering Section 1 between Omrah Avenue to Arthur Street, and we are delivering Section 2 with the Nicklin Way, Third Avenue extension.
Planning for future upgrades to the Caloundra Road and Nicklin Way intersection is underway.
This intersection connects Nicklin Way to Caloundra Road and Pelican Waters Boulevard, which is a key connection into Caloundra CBD and surrounding suburbs.
Planning will determine possible options for an upgrade to improve safety and reduce congestion.
The interchange is proposed to include a new north-south bridge over Caloundra Road connecting Kawana Way Link Road to Bells Creek Arterial Road, improving traffic flow on all routes.
New slip lanes will be built, and improvements made to active transport facilities.
