Stafford Road and South Pine Road intersection (Everton Park), upgrade
The Queensland Government is planning an upgrade of the Stafford Road and South Pine Road intersection at Everton Park.
Investigations are underway for a safety and accessibility upgrade with funding allocated for planning, detailed design and construction.
The intersection is a key junction between 2 major arterial roads and a history of crashes at this location has made safety improvements a key focus and priority.

Key features
Following options analysis in 2025, we have progressed with a preferred option that will include:
- providing a double right turn from Stafford Road into South Pine Road
- improving intersection geometry by realigning Griffith Street
- adding a left-turn lane from South Pine Road into Griffith Street
- applying a high-friction surface treatment and improving intersection surface grades
- considering turn restrictions to promote the use of Everton Park Link Road.
