Upcoming transit oriented developments
Corinda TOD
The department is proposing to seek involvement of interested parties via an open market Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to develop the site and to reinstate permanent park 'n' ride commuter car parks.
EOIs will invite suitably qualified and experienced parties with demonstrated experience in the development of medium scale developments to:
- design and construct a development on the site, and
- in conjunction with TMR, design and construct permanent commuter park 'n' ride capacity for Corinda Train Station to be delivered at no cost to the state, with ownership of the commuter car parks to remain as the state’s.
The objectives for the development of the site are to:
- achieve innovative design solutions that deliver effective land use and transport integration while maximising the development potential of the site
- achieve development generally consistent with the local planning intent
- maintain, at a minimum, existing commuter park 'n' ride capacity for Corinda Train Station
- ensure a suitable interim park 'n' ride solution is made available for commuters during construction
- deliver the proposed development and transport infrastructure with no loss or cost to the state.
The key planning and design objectives envisaged for the site include:
- a high level of activation of Corinda Train Station and interaction with the proposed development
- a vibrant development generally in accordance with local planning intentions
- a coherent, legible, high quality, safe and accessible public realm that enhances the Corinda Train Station and associated bus functions, reinforces pedestrian connectivity and integrates with the surrounding area
- high-quality sustainable design.
