Pacific Motorway, Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill Upgrade (Pacific Highway early works upgrade)
The Pacific Highway (western service road) in Slacks Creek was realigned and upgraded as part of the Pacific Motorway, Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill Upgrade.
The service road, between Moss Street and Westerway Street, was realigned and widened to increase its traffic capacity and make way for construction of additional northbound and southbound lanes on the M1.
Major works included relocating all public utility services and constructing new stormwater drainage under the M1 to the Slacks Creek water catchment, for improved M1 flood immunity.
This project was delivered as part of the Stage 2 - Pacific Motorway, Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill Upgrade.

The project was jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments. $750 million – Stage 2: Pacific Motorway Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill Upgrade, as published in the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program 2024-25 to 2027-28.

Current status
Construction was completed in June 2022.

- location of the new Rochedale bus station and park 'n' ride at the corner of Underwood and School roads
- location of the South East Busway extension between Eight Mile Plains and Springwood bus station
- location of the new M1 on-ramp at Lexington Road, Underwood that replaced the Sports Drive M1 on-ramp, and a new shared use path from Springwood Road to the new Rochedale bus station at Underwood Road.
