Major pavement strengthening works
We're accelerating construction progressively on high-risk sections of the highway between Gympie and Cairns.
This wave of works includes:
- 19 projects to deliver around 93km of road pavement strengthening
- 3 projects to deliver around 13km of wide centre line treatment with road widening and audio tactile line marking, at priority locations between:
- Gympie and Maryborough
- Rockhampton and St Lawrence
- Ayr and Townsville.
These works are building on the safety benefits being delivered by the early start package.
