Application process

2026 Graduate Program

Applications for our 2026 Graduate Program are closed.

We want to learn more about you. You will demonstrate your skills, personal qualities and motivations through our application process.

We aim for an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. To help you excel we offer reasonable adjustments at all stages of the recruitment process.

If you meet the suitability requirements for multiple positions, you may be offered a position outside of the one you initially applied for.

Our application process timeline

Step 1

Browse through our available graduate roles available for the 2026 cohort. Read through the responsibilities, available locations, and technical skills or qualifications.

Step 2

Register your Applicant Profile on our platform. To have a valid application, you'll need to upload your:

  • resume
  • cover letter
  • undergraduate academic transcript and any postgraduate transcripts
  • evidence of Australian Citizenship or Australian Working Rights
  • video, telling us more about you (optional).

Step 3

Eligibility screening starts. We will make sure you have the right to work in Australia and you hold the right degree for your preferred role.

Step 4

Experts from your chosen field look at your application and assess your:

  • experience
  • knowledge
  • acquired skills
  • personal qualities.

Step 5

Our interview process begins. We will call you to arrange a time to meet with us in-person or virtually. We strongly recommend you respond to interview questions following the STAR method, where appropriate.

If you're offered an interview, you must let your referees know. Reference checks are sent by email and you will not be able to progress to the next stage without this.

Step 6

Our panels will now be considering all applicants who participated in the interview stage and completing internal paperwork. This stage can take a while, so please know that we appreciate your patience.

Step 7

The initial offer will be made by phone. We will send you an email with the details of the role if you accept. You will need to respond to the email within seven days of it being sent to you. We may extend offers until December while we work through our various roles.

What do I include in my cover letter?

Upload a cover letter (maximum 1 page) answering the following two questions:

  1. Tell us about what interests you most in the degree that you studied? Below are 5 attributes that TMR is seeking to build our future workforce.
  2. Choose two that motivate you and tell us how you bring them to life through work, study, and leisure activities?
    • Thriving: Our people are continuously growing, are healthy, resilient, and have a sustained sense that our work is positive, meaningful, and worthwhile.
    • Curious: Our people are open minded, keen to explore, discover and build their capability. We seek out to build positive connections with each other, with our customers and stakeholders.
    • Digitally agile: No matter which role we have, our people seize opportunities that come with technology and solutions. We imagine and we are open to new possibilities.
    • Delivers results: We are results-driven, and we work with our customers and across our networks to deliver for Queensland. We don’t fear mistakes, we learn from them, and success is celebrated.
    • Embraces diversity: TMR is a community where our people can bring their whole selves to work, feeling welcome, feeling safe and feeling they belong.
