Preparing for the low loader vehicle implementation

The new Queensland Class 1 low loader access regime is coming soon. From September 2026, road access for low loader vehicles operating outside of the National Class 1 Load Carrying Vehicle Dimension Exemption Notice 2025 (No. 2) and National Class 1 Load Carrying Vehicle Mass Exemption Notice 2025 (No. 1) will be managed through the new regime implementation.

May 2026—NAAS preview stage

Familiarise yourself with all the features of the NAAS, before it is officially launched.

September 2026—Full implementation of the new access regime

Applies to low loader vehicles operating outside of the National Class 1 Load Carrying Vehicle Dimension Exemption Notice 2025 (No. 2) and National Class 1 Load Carrying Vehicle Mass Exemption Notice 2025 (No.1).

Steps to get ready

1. Participate in the NAAS preview stage (May 2026)
   • Familiarise yourself with the NAAS platform and its functionalities.
   • Understand how the system will impact your operations.
2. Review internal processes
   • Assess your current processes for managing access permits and notices.
   • Identify any changes needed to align with NAAS requirements.
3. Provide feedback
   • Share your experiences during the preview stage to help refine the system before full implementation.

• Training and guides: Online tutorials and user guides will be available during the preview stage.
• Webinars: Provides useful information for preview and implementation stages.
• Help desk: Contact us for assistance.

Registration will not be required. We will communicate when the NAAS preview stage commences closer to May 2026.
