Technical training
The Queensland Government, through the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) offers technical and safety training to industry, local government and contractors. Training is delivered through Accelerate, TMR's online learning management system.

Accelerate is designed to make accessing TMR training simple and flexible for external users:

- Track your learning – view enrolments, monitor progress and download certificates.
Many courses are free or low cost, with pricing clearly displayed before enrolment.
What training is available?
Our technical training catalogue covers a broad range of disciplines relevant to people working on or around the road network, including:
- Working safely in proximity to traffic: including Working in Proximity to Traffic – Awareness (Parts 1 and 2) and related safety courses
- Temporary traffic management and event traffic management
- Road design and engineering fundamentals
- Drainage, structures and asset management
- Technical compliance and professional upskilling.
Courses are developed and maintained by TMR subject matter experts to reflect Queensland standards, policies and practices.
Course prerequisites
Some technical training courses have prerequisites that are listed on each course page.
When you enrol through Accelerate, you will be asked to confirm that you meet any prerequisites. If evidence is required, the course page explains what to provide and how to submit it.

How to access Accelerate
External users can access training by following these steps:
- Go to https://learn.accelerate.tmr.qld.gov.au
- Create an account (include a contact phone number so we can assist if needed)
- Browse the course catalogue or use filters to search by topic or keyword
- Enrol and, where required, pay online
- Complete training and download your certificate of completion.
