Brisbane Valley Highway Safety Program
The Queensland Government is delivering a targeted program of works to improve safety and travel conditions along the Brisbane Valley Highway.
The Brisbane Valley Highway pavement strengthening project will improve ride quality for motorists.
The project will deliver targeted upgrades to improve the condition of the pavement.
The project aims to:
Works will be delivered at priority locations from 2026 to 2028, subject to funding and weather conditions. Construction will be prioritised for locations showing the greatest need. Treatments will include pavement strengthening and resurfacing, and associated road asset improvements.
The project will be delivered in partnership with Somerset Regional Council, ensuring local knowledge and efficient execution.
The initial focus will be a five kilometre section of the highway near Ottaba, south of Toogoolawah.
The section from Lloyds Road to north of Randalls Road will follow the Ottaba section. Subsequent locations will be determined subject to funding availability and need.
The project will strengthen the Brisbane Valley Highway across priority locations to improve the condition of the pavement.
