Department of Transport and Main Roads

Overview

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Disability Services Plan 2025–2027 (DSP 2025–2027) is a 2-year road map to build inclusive, accessible workplaces and transport services by removing barriers for people with disability.

The Disability Act 2006 (Queensland) (the act) requires the Queensland Government to develop a state disability plan every 5 years. This supports Australia’s obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and serves as Queensland’s implementation of the Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021–2031 (the strategy).

The act also requires state government departments to prepare disability plans. These plans are required to align with the state outcomes framework and outline how departments will address barriers for service users and employees. Actions for TMR focus on consultation, equal rights and opportunities, maintaining an accessible transport system, and valuing diversity. TMR celebrates the contributions of all people and is committed to further embedding inclusion, accessibility, and diversity.
