Action 1.2: Review and publish Priority Route Maps every 2 years to support the Principal Cycle Network Plans and reflect current delivery priorities.
Lead agency: Department of Transport and Main Roads
Status: Complete
Achievements
Priority Route Maps help guide the delivery of a connected and cohesive cycle network across Queensland.
We worked with local governments to update existing Priority Route Maps to respond to changes in demand and priority.
We also developed new Priority Route Maps for Barcaldine, Blackall-Tambo, Longreach, Winton and Boulia local government areas.
We published the updated and new Priority Route Maps on our website in October 2021 and supported local governments to prepare delivery action plans to guide the delivery of the active transport network in their region.
Next steps
We will work with local governments to monitor and encourage implementation of the agreed delivery action plans, and to regularly update the Priority Route Maps.
