If your Registered Training Organisation (RTO) is recognised to deliver Drive Multi-Combination Vehicle (TLIC4006), any driver trainer you employ must be recognised by the department and listed in Schedule 2 of your Delivery of Training Course Deed (the Deed).
Driver trainer eligibility
All driver trainers delivering training and assessment for a multi-combination licence, must meet the following requirements:
- hold a current multi-combination class driver licence (held for at least 12 months)
- hold a current Queensland driver trainer accreditation to class multi-combination
- have current industry experience and the necessary skills to safely operate a multi-combination vehicle.

How to add a new driver trainer
To add a new driver trainer, you must seek our recognition of the new driver trainer.
You must email [email protected] advising us that you want to vary the Deed, and attach the following documents for our review and approval:
- An updated Schedule 2 with the details of the new driver trainer
- Supporting evidence confirming the trainer meets all eligibility criteria detailed in section 3 of the Application guide to deliver TLIC4006
We will review the documentation and notify you in writing within 10 business days about whether the amendments are approved. If we need more information, we might take another 10 business days from when you provide the clarifications or corrections. Then, we will let you know if the amendments are approved.
We reserve the right to accept or decline the proposed variation and will notify you in writing of the outcome.
How to remove a driver trainer
To remove a driver trainer, you must seek agreement from us.
Email [email protected] to ask for a change to the Deed. Include an updated Schedule 2 that does not include the driver trainer you want to remove.
We will review the documentation and notify you in writing within 5 business days about whether the amendment is approved. If we don’t have all the information, we’ll need to ask for clarification or changes. Then, we may take an extra 5 business days from when we get the information to let you know if the changes are approved.
We reserve the right to accept or decline the proposed variation and will notify you in writing of the outcome.
