Code of conduct for school students travelling on buses

Requirement to comply if a school student is travelling on the bus

Operators must comply with the  Code of conduct for school students travelling on buses (code of conduct) if a school student is travelling on the bus. The code of conduct outlines the rights, roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, including the obligations of bus operators in contributing to safe and responsible school bus travel.

Drivers are also required to comply with the code of conduct if a school student is travelling on the bus. To ensure drivers understand their obligations this topic is included in the Driver training notice on the Operator accreditation responsibilities webpage.
