Project story: Logan City Council, Alamein Street at George Street and Main Street, Beenleigh intersection upgrades

We have upgraded intersections on Alamein Street at George Street and Main Street in Beenleigh.  

The upgrades provide improved traffic flow, more reliable travel times and safer movement for motorists, bike riders and pedestrians. 

These works were proudly supported by the Queensland Government’s TIDS and were delivered under council’s Major Intersections and Pavement Rehabilitation Program. 

Project features 

Alamein Street and George Street intersection upgrade includes: 

  • new traffic signals
  • CCTV camera monitoring 
  • modified traffic islands
  • new kerb, channel and ramps  
  • landscaping. 

Alamein Street and Main Street intersection upgrade includes: 

  • new traffic signals
  • changes to the existing footpath, including a new kerb ramp
  • reconstructed traffic nose cone
  • new block wall
  • pavement.

Project benefits 

The upgrade delivers a range of benefits, including: 

  • improved pedestrian access
  • improved traffic flow
  • more reliable travel times 
  • safer travel for motorists, bike riders and pedestrians.
