Click Defect Inspection from the main menu of the Home screen.
Enter the Defect Notice Number and:
if the vehicle was manufactured after 1 January 1989, enter the Vehicle Identification Number
if the vehicle was manufactured before 1 January 1989, enter the Queensland registration plate number and chassis number.
After entering the required fields, click VERIFY.
If the defect notice and vehicle cannot be verified, ICO cannot be used to record the defect notice inspection. Instead, you must sign the back of the hard copy of the defect notice and return it to the customer. The customer will need to present the signed defect notice to TMR to clear the defect notice.
If the defect notice number and vehicle do verify, the defect inspection can be completed using ICO.
Enter the odometer reading from the vehicle at the time of the inspection.
If the defect notice requires you to upload brake test results, or any other supporting documents, click Choose File in the Attach Photo box.
Find and select the file or photo you want to upload and click ADD PHOTO to attach.
Files must be uploaded one at a time.
Maximum file size is 10 MB.
Accepted file types are jpeg, jpg, png, pdf, xlsx, csv, doc and docx.
If you are conducting an inspection from a mobile AIS, the GPS location must be included in the brake test results photo or file.
If you are conducting the inspection from a mobile AIS click Yes to the question Is inspection conducted from a mobile AIS?.
Additional fields will appear which you will need to complete:
Mobile AIS location (enter the street number, street name and suburb where the inspection took place).
Mobile AIS Odometer Reading.
Mobile AIS Rego Number.
Enter the customer email address, if provided.
You can enter the customer name and address details by clicking Add more customer details. This is optional.
Select the relevant declaration for the defect inspection conducted.
Click the CONFIRM button.
The Defect Notice Inspection Confirmation notice will be generated by ICO and automatically emailed to the customer if an email address was provided. A hard copy of the Defect Notice Inspection Confirmation notice can also be printed for the customer if required.
The customer will not need to present the Defect Notice Inspection Confirmation notice to TMR to clear the defect notice, as this is done automatically through ICO.
